Starchild: An Agent in Your Traders’ Back Pocket

Starchild: An Agent in Your Traders’ Back Pocket

Once you’ve created your own trading exchange (easily doable with Orderly One) you can now integrate custom built modules from partners like Starchild, an AI trading agent built around your goals.

The Starchild module, now live on the Orderly Builders Marketplace, replaces that. Your traders get an agent that researches, analyzes, and executes inside your DEX, in minutes, with no code from you.

What It Is

Starchild is a personal AI agent platform. The module drops that agent directly into your trading interface.

Your traders don't leave the UI. They don't open a second tab, paste a wallet address into a research tool, or context-switch to Discord to ask what a funding rate means. The agent sits in the interface they're already using, aware of the positions they're already holding, with the ability to act on them.

Installing it takes just a few minutes.

What Your Traders Get

An agent that trades. This is the part that separates it from every chatbot bolted onto a trading app. A trader describes what they want in plain language ( the setup, the conditions, the risk) and the agent builds the strategy and executes it on Orderly. No API keys to configure, no server to run, no Python to write.

Position analysis. The agent reads what a trader actually holds (size, leverage, entry, exposure) and explains it back to them. Not generic risk-management copy. Their book.

80+ premium skills. Coinglass, CoinGecko, DefiLlama, DeBank, TwelveData, TAAPI, and more. Individually those are subscriptions your traders don't have. Together they're the data stack a trading desk runs. Your DEX now ships with it.

All of it without leaving the trading UI. Every tab a trader opens is a chance they don't come back.

What This Actually Unlocks

The feature list undersells it. Here's what an executing agent inside a trading interface looks like in practice:

The strategy that used to require a developer. "Ladder into ETH between 1,800 and 1,650, size it at 3x, cut it if funding flips negative for six hours." That has always required a repo, a VPS, API keys, and a weekend. Now it's a sentence. The population of people who want automated strategies has always been enormous. The population who could build them was tiny. That gap is where this lands.

The trader who is asleep. Perps trade 24/7 and humans don't. An agent that watches conditions and acts on them is the difference between a trader who takes what the New York session gives them and one whose plan runs at 4am.

The trader who doesn't know what they don't know. Someone opens 20x because funding looked attractive and has no idea what happens when it flips. Instead of finding out during liquidation, they can ask and then have the agent set the exit they just learned they needed. The gap between "I want to trade perps" and "I understand perps" is where DEXs lose people. This closes some of it.

The trader with a thesis and no time. They read that a chipmaker had a bad quarter and want to know whether the on-chain equity markets are pricing it. That was twenty minutes across four tabs. Now it's a question, and the follow-up is an order.

The long-tail market nobody has heard of. Perp Anything means builders can list things no venue offers, but unfamiliar markets have a discovery problem, and thin ones need someone quoting them. An agent that can surface, explain, and trade unfamiliar markets is distribution for exactly the markets that need it most.

The community that runs on questions. If you're a KOL or a trading community operating a DEX, a real share of your day is answering the same five questions. The agent takes the repeatable ones. You keep the interesting ones.

Trusting an Agent With Money

Starchild agents run in a sandboxed environment with an explicit wallet policy that has to be active before the agent can trade at all. The trader sets the permissions. The agent operates inside them, and every action is auditable. It isn't a black box you hand your balance to, it's a bounded operator and the bounds are the trader's to define.

Why Builders Should Care

There are 400+ DEXs on Orderly and they all draw from the same orderbook. That's the point, it's why a brand-new exchange launches with institutional depth. You differentiate on brand, on markets, and on product surface. The Builders Marketplace exists so that product surface stops requiring an engineering team.

The math on this one is unusually direct. A trader who can only trade while awake and watching generates volume during their waking hours. A trader running agents generates volume continuously, and every bit of it clears through your venue at your fee settings. Add the second-order effects, traders who understand their positions get liquidated less and stay longer, traders who can find markets trade more of them, and the case is straightforward: this module increases the number a DEX operator cares about.

How to Add It

  1. Open the module on the Builders Marketplace.
  2. Install it to your DEX.
  3. Configure how it appears in your interface.
  4. Ship it, and tell your community it's there.

Who This Is For

  • KOLs and communities whose audience wants automated trading strategies and asks more questions than one person can answer
  • New DEX operators who need a reason for traders to pick their venue over the other 400
  • Builders listing long-tail or Perp Anything markets that need explaining before they get traded
  • RWA and equities-focused DEXs whose traders come from TradFi and don't yet speak perp
  • Anyone

The Marketplace Is the Point

Orderly One made launching an exchange free and instant. Perp Anything made the asset universe open. The Builders Marketplace does the same thing to features: what one builder ships, every builder can install.

The Starchild module is a good demonstration of the model. An AI agent that can research, reason about a position, and execute against an orderbook is a serious engineering project. For a builder on Orderly, it's now a checkbox.

FAQ

What is the Starchild module? It's a plugin on the Orderly Builders Marketplace that adds a personal AI agent to your perp DEX. Traders get position analysis, cross-chain market research, 80+ premium data skills, and the ability to build and run trading strategies without leaving your interface.

Can the agent actually place trades? Yes. Traders describe a strategy in plain language and the agent builds and executes it on Orderly, operating under permissions the trader sets.

How does a trader control what the agent is allowed to do? Through the wallet policy, which must be active before the agent can trade. The trader defines the permissions; the agent operates inside them.

What data can the agent access? 80+ premium skills covering sources including Coinglass, CoinGecko, DefiLlama, DeBank, TwelveData, and TAAPI, alongside Orderly's own market and account data.

What is the Builders Marketplace? Orderly's library of installable modules for DEXs. Builders publish features they've built, and any of the 400+ DEXs on Orderly can install them. No forking, no rebuild.

Can I build my own module? Yes. The SDK v3 plugin system lets you build modules that extend the Orderly trading interface, and you can publish them to the marketplace for other builders to install.
